In a world where everything seems to be increasingly digital and perfectly calculated, these drawings bring with them the spontaneity of pure gesture. The own technique I have developed was born out of my passion for drawing and capturing movement, using a specially adapted brush with an diluted acrylic color in a way that allows the line to “dance” on the paper.
As I work, the music from my mind seems to guide me with every paint brush line. Not a specific song, but rather that inner rhythm that makes the body move naturally, without constraint. The dancers, captured in moments of pure grace, float on the white surface of the paper. They are barefoot – a seemingly minor detail that speaks volumes about the freedom and authenticity of movement in contemporary dance.
The fascination for spontaneity shines through every feature. Vibrating lines, sometimes strong, sometimes barely whispered, are born in moments of pure inspiration, where me and the dancers were breathing in the same rhythm. There is nothing theatrical or forced here – everything flows with the naturalness of a mountain river.
The look reveals how each drawing tells its own story. Some figures seem caught in a moment of flight, others in a moment of contemplation or in a twist that defies gravity. But they are united by the same pure joy of movement, that freedom felt in dance when no one is watching.
Perhaps that’s the magic of these designs – their power to evoke memories of the moments when each of us felt that perfect freedom of movement, whether in a dance hall, on the beach or in the privacy of our own home. Because in the end, that’s exactly what authentic art does – it connects us to the most honest and free part of ourselves.
